SOUTH AMBOY – Business Administrator Camille Tooker reported that the day after the last Business Meeting – Thursday, August 7, 2013 NJ Transit informed the City that the 9-11 Memorial can be installed at no cost to the City and their fee would be waived.
There was also a public auction for 3 vehicles. There will be a minimum price set by the Mechanics who will determine the value of each vehicle. There was also a bid for a Waterfront Walkway and Seawall Construction. The bids were between $1.1 to $2.3 million and are under review by the Engineer’s Office. City Engineer Mark Rasimowicz stated that the low bidder had withdrawn.
Rasimowicz also reported that for the annual 2014 fiscal year there are 3 NJDOT grants available for road projects, transit grants and safe streets.
September 20, 2013 is the deadline to have application submitted.
B.A. Camille Tooker said that there is a corrective action plan to the 2012 audit. This plan was to correct any deficiencies found. This included post-employment benefit actuaries, police (outside duty) and administrative fee salaries.
An item for a yard waste interlocal service agreement drawn up by the County will be looked at by the City. If the City agrees, they can sign the agreement. Councilman Mickey Gross abstained.
