PERTH AMBOY – On Monday, 28 October 2013 at 11:21 a.m. police arrested Darion Avrette, age 47 of State Street. Police were dispatched to a Burglary in progress at Saint Stephens Church location at 500 State Street. The suspect was seen opening donation boxes. Suspect was apprehended by Police Officer Stephen Petrosino and Sergeant Andy Montalvo inside the Church. Bail was set by the Honorable Judge Emery Toth at $60,000.00 with no 10% option. Other charges are pending at this time. Case is being handled by Detective Gilberto Simao.
