PERTH AMBOY – The 11/13/13 Caucus/Council Meeting. Communication #10 on the agenda: Mayor Wilda Diaz recommending to the Board of Chosen Freeholders the Right of Way of Maurer Road in the City of Perth Amboy be vacated subject to a letter submitted by Buckeye Pipeline Partners. (11/4/13)
In discussing the closure of this road, Chief Benjamin Ruiz stated, “Representatives from Buckeye Partners met with the Police and Fire Departments to discuss safety issues. Maurer Road will have to be closed for 6 to 8 hour periods for rail and truck access. The road would only be able to be open for emergency vehicles.”

Councilman Bill Petrick asked the Chief if he was aware of the (3) (60,000 gallon 150 ft. long butane gas tanks) behind the Chevron Administration Building. The Chief replied that they were not informed about the tanks.
Petrick replied that it was important, “You should have been notified.”
Buckeye will build on approximately 250 acres in Perth Amboy on property purchased from Chevron USA, Inc.
