PERTH AMBOY – Below is Mayor Wilda Diaz’s follow-up response to the fatal incident that took place on Wednesday, December 4th on Hall Avenue:

“As Mayor, my position during this difficult time for the Rodriguez family has been to respect their privacy, as such I ask that you also respect the families involved while they are coping with a loss. I understand the hurt and concern by all, but the community has been informed by several statements made by the Acting Middlesex County Prosecutor, who is conducting the investigation. And though those statements are difficult to accept those are the facts that are being released at this time. Please remain patient as the investigation in still in progress and we do not want to compromise it.

In the past 2 days I have met with all the families involved and I also ask that you continue to keep them in your prayers and extend your care as ONE community. Information will be disseminated as it becomes available. Lastly, it is best to remain positive and let’s continue to uplift our City as a whole.”
