Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Services at Cathedral International

PERTH AMBOY, N.J. – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s life and legacy will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, January 20, 2014 at The Cathedral, 277 Madison Avenue.

King Day service at The Cathedral is one of the annual community events many look forward to attending. Pastor Henry Rodgers, staff pastor at the church recalls King Day services at Second Baptist Church (now Cathedral International) when located at 101 Broad Street. He said, “Since Dr. King’s Day has been in existence, it has been an honor to convene a service where all generations and ethnicities come together to pay respect to the living philosophy of this great man.”

Leaders from various houses of worship will attend and share in reflections on the King Philosophy. In addition, the Perth Amboy High School Concert Band, Cathedral International’s Joy Bells Children’s Choir and Cathedral Warriors will participate on the program.

Keynote speaker is Bishop Donald Hilliard, Jr., Lead Pastor of Cathedral International. In 2013, Bishop Hilliard celebrated 30 years pastoring Cathedral International. Everyone is welcome to attend this free service. Call (732) 826- 5295 for more information
