PERTH AMBOY – In the 1/29/14 Amboy Guardian on Page 6, the Amboy Guardian obtained a statement that former Housing Authority Commissioner, Pedro Perez read at the 1/22/14 Caucus Meeting.
In this statement, he gave his reasons for withdrawing his application to be reappointed as a Commissioner. Housing Authority Chair, Dorothy Daniel responded to what Perez said in the same issue.
At the 2/12/14 Council Meeting, Perez was recognized by the City for his 20+ years as a Housing Authority Commissioner.
Cathy DePow, who left the Housing Authority a few years back, read a statement at that Council Meeting supporting Perez.
Some of the comments DePow made were similar to statements she made when she gave an in depth interview to the Amboy Beacon about 5 to 6 years ago. Housing Chair Dot Daniel responded to that interview shortly after.
Resident Alan Silber spoke about the Housing Authority, but did not attack anyone. He had one issue: At a previous meeting, a Commissioner welcomed anyone to attend the Authority’s Meetings.
Silber said, “That Commissioner didn’t let anyone know that there was a meeting being held the next day at 12 Noon.”
Resident Stanley Sierakowski still lamented the fact that minutes of the meetings are not posted promptly on the City’s website.
