The newspapers told of an electric automobile manufacturer that sells direct to its customers rather than through dealers. What’s wrong with that?
Decades ago there was a policy of “fair trade” where a manufacturer dictated the retail price of its products. This anti-competitive policy was declared unconstitutional by the US Supreme Court. Selling direct to the public seems like a way to resurrect this outlawed “fair trade” policy.
Who wants an anti-competitive policy in what is supposed to be a “free market”?
