Contest Recognizes Local Environmental Champions – Deadline Apr. 30

ISELIN -– Middlesex Water Company, an Iselin-based company providing water and wastewater utility and contract operations services in New Jersey and Delaware, is seeking to recognize schools, organizations and individuals for their outstanding environmental efforts by sponsoring the 2014 Environmental Champion Awards. Contest rules and applications are available at www.middlesexwater.com. Deadline is April 30, 2014.

As stewards of water resources for over a century, Middlesex Water Company sponsors initiatives to raise awareness of the need to protect and preserve our natural resources. The 2014 Environmental Champion Awards are designed to recognize those individuals, organizations and schools that have made significant efforts to protect and preserve the environment through stewardship, engagement and environmental education.

“The Environmental Champions Awards contest complements our ongoing education outreach efforts, through which we provide facility tours, provide water literature, promote careers in the water and wastewater industry and offer speakers to schools and organizations on a wide range of topics including the value of water, the water cycle, the water treatment process, wise water use and the water/energy nexus,” said Bernadette Sohler, Vice President – Corporate Affairs.
