PERTH AMBOY – Ten volunteers of Kamran Nadeem Foundation paid a visit to the elderly residents at Alameda Nursing Home in Perth Amboy on May 6th. They distributed smiles for flowers on the occasion of the upcoming Mother’s Day. The mothers and grandmothers at the nursing home were ecstatic at this gesture of love and care from total strangers. Among the recipients of flowers of love were two 102-year old grandmothers. “The joy of distributing smiles to the faces of people you don’t know is exhilarating,” said Ali Kamran, the 17-year old volunteer son of the late Kamran Nadeem, in whose name a group of friends and volunteers have set up this non-profit organization. Kamran Nadeem was a poet, a scholar, and a philanthropist, whose life was cut short last year due to pancreatic cancer. An inauguration ceremony for Kamran Nadeem Foundation is planned for May 21st at Shahi Palace in Woodbridge at 6 P.M. A number of eminent members of the community are signed up already for this occasion. For further information, please call Farah Kamran, the President of the foundation at 551-697-0888.
