PERTH AMBOY – The Fire Safety Initiative took place on Saturday, March 10th. “I am so proud of the volunteers who gathered, as we partnered with American Red Cross New Jersey Region, Sound the Alarm Event in Perth Amboy to keep our residents safe and informed.  Volunteers visited homes and went door-to-door to hand out fire safety information and install smoke alarms in the outer State Street area. Our Fire Safety program has been an ongoing initiative for the past 4 weeks. We have visit several neighborhoods throughout the city and the response has been overwhelming and well received by the community.  Many thanks to our volunteers and donors who made this possible,” said Mayor Wilda Diaz.
