Grand Opening of Perth Amboy PD’s Community Policing

Substation on the Cathedral International Campus and 

Celebrating Senior Pastor, Donald Hilliard’s 61st Birthday

PERTH AMBOY – “We give God glory for the new opportunity for the Perth Amboy Police Department to have its Community Policing Substation on our Campus,” stated Bishop Donald Hilliard, Jr., Senior Pastor of Cathedral International. “This will most certainly add a degree of safety to the entire downtown Perth Amboy community.”

All are invited to attend the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of the Community Policing Substation located at 282B Madison Avenue, Perth Amboy, NJ, Sunday, June 24, 2018. This will take place immediately following the 9:30 AM Worship Service at The Cathedral, 277 Madison Avenue, Perth Amboy, NJ.  Perth Amboy’s Mayor, Wilda Diaz and Perth Amboy’s Chief of Police, Roman McKeon will participate in the Ceremony.  “We thank God for this historic day of collaboration with the City of Perth Amboy,” said Pastor Michael Wilkerson Leach, Pastor of Administrative Affairs and Chief Operating Officer.

In addition, Cathedral International will celebrate the 61st Birthday of Bishop Hilliard with an Outdoor Street Festival with free food, face painting for children, basketball and other games and activities. We welcome everyone to join the celebration.

• 1990 – Former Majestic Theater purchased and renovated into The Cathedral Sanctuary

• 1992 – Former Elks Building purchased and dedicated as the Family Life Center

• 1994 – Former Madison Pines restaurant (282 Madison Ave.) purchased and renovated into the Cathedral Café; purchased 284 Madison Avenue rental property and dedicated as Cathedral Technology Center

• 1995 – Former Margaretten Mortgage building and two parking lots purchased and later named the Donald Hilliard, Jr., Community Affairs Complex.

•1995 and 1997 – Purchased residential properties at 280 and 282 McClellan Street and converted into the Mercy House and the Timothy House

• 1997 – Purchased Cathedral by the Shore Church, Asbury Park, NJ

• 1999 – Purchased home next door to Cathedral by the Shore Church and named it Asbury Park Community Cornerstone Complex

• 2001 – 2002 – Built new townhouses named Cathedral Village; purchased rental property (Kaleidoscope); purchased Amboy Florist; purchased former Oasis Bar (Asbury Park)

• 2004 – Closed on 101 acres in Cranbury, NJ

• 2016 – Planted Cathedral Gardens at Cathedral International Farm. Cranbury, NJ
