PERTH AMBOY – The Annual Ringing of the Liberty Bell took place on July 4, 2019 at City Hall Circle. Some participants and re-enactors marched from the Proprietary House to City Hall Circle. Firefighter Javier Cruz sang the National Anthem,and the led the Pledge of Allegiance. John Dyke gave some remarks on Perth Amboy. The Declaration of Independence was read by Congressman Frank Pallone, City Historian Anton Massopust, City Resident Yolanda Flores, Min. Carole Dortch-Wright, Cathedral International, and Councilman Fernando Irizarry. Dorothy Carty-Daniel sang the New Colossus. Mayor Wilda Diaz rang the Liberty Bell at 2 p.m.
