Press Release July 30, 2019
PERTH AMBOY – The RARITAN BAY AREA YMCA and Hyundai Motor America Eastern Region have once again partnered this summer in supporting Perth Amboy children to get in gear for school. This is the third summer Hyundai Motor America has provided Perth Amboy children with school supplies that include backpacks. The past few years Hyundai has supported the Y’s middle/high school participants and through this project, over 300 students have been impacted. This year they have shifted their resources to help preschool students from the Perth Amboy community. While children may be in the full swing of the summer, parents understand that fall is around the corner and with that comes the acquisition of sometimes costly school supplies. The YMCA and Hyundai Motor America Eastern Region understand the importance of starting the school year off properly and this is why 100+ preschool students will be presented with school supplies.
The RARITAN BAY AREA YMCA and Hyundai Motor America Eastern Region will present the school supplies to children and their families on August 9, 2019 at Ignacio Cruz Early Childhood Education Center. “Adequate school supplies are essential in helping to build the foundation of learning. Both the Y and Hyundai Motor America share that understanding and together we are working to ensure that our children will start the school year prepared to succeed,” said Steve Jobin, President & CEO, RARITAN BAY AREA YMCA. Rose Castillo from Hyundai Motor America shared “Our ultimate goal for this event is to provide the children in our communities with the tools necessary to start the school year off right. Partnering with the Raritan Bay Area YMCA was a perfect fit since they are a large resource in the Perth Amboy community”.
