City Welcomes Patricia Perkins to Historic Community

PERTH AMBOY – Mayor Wilda Diaz is pleased to announce the appointment of Patricia Perkins, as the Interim Business Administrator for the City of Perth Amboy, effective August 3rd 2020.
“I am so pleased to appoint Ms. Patricia Perkins as our new Interim City Administrator,” said Mayor Wilda Diaz. She is a respected, dedicated public service professional with extensive experience within the public legislation process for regulatory of activities and capital projects. She was instrumental in the economic development for the city of Elizabeth and the State of New Jersey. Ms. Perkins will work with the administration and the City Council to best serve our residents and taxpayers. Her widespread knowledge will also provide much value to the continued business growth in Perth Amboy. I am confident that Ms. Perkins will be instrumental in providing guidance and oversight throughout our municipal operations.”
Ms. Perkins has over 28 years of experience in municipal management that includes being First African American women elected to the Elizabeth City Council and the First African American Council President. In addition to her professional experience, Ms. Perkins served as President of the NAACP, Elizabeth Branch; Co-founder NCNW Elizabeth Area; National League Cities and Democratic National Committee.
Ms. Perkins Graduated from Rutgers University and has completed graduate courses in Public Administration.
Ms. Perkins is known for her professionalism and years of leadership experience among many in the State. She is well respected for her leadership style and for providing effective management in operational budget preparation and execution, long-term planning, facilities management and administrative oversight.
