New Jersey Reproductive Freedom Act

The New Jersey Reproductive Freedom Act (S3030/A4848), currently before the state legislature, is the most dangerous and radical abortion bill ever proposed in our state. It will invalidate New Jersey’s conscience clause which has been in effect since 1974 which protects the rights of individuals to refuse to perform or assist in abortion procedures. All abortions will be allowed throughout the entire nine months of pregnancy, putting women at risk in late-term abortions, and risking women’s lives in abortions performed by non-physicians. It enshrines in law that living babies in the womb capable of feeling pain have no rights at any stage of pregnancy, even if they are viable and at full term. The bill says, “a fertilized egg, embryo, or fetus shall not have independent rights under the laws of this state.” It will gut the New Jersey Safe Haven Infant Protection Act which saved the lives of 77 newborns since its enactment. It is our duty as citizens to protect the most vulnerable members of our society, such as the unborn who have no voice. I urge you to contact your three state legislators and ask them to Vote No on (S3030/A4848), the New Jersey Reproductive Freedom Act.
