In accordance with New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) regulations for Notification and Public Outreach, American Industrial Supply, Inc. (AIS) is required to provide information relating to environmental conditions and remedial activities being conducted at the above referenced site.
Former operations conducted at this Site include, tire retreading, repair, and sales, trolly, bus transport and repair and electrical power generation and supply. Potential chemical compounds of concern associated with the former site operations include, but may not be limited to, Extractable Petroleum Hydrocarbons (EPHs), Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs), Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) and metals. Exceedances of the Groundwater Quality Standards and Groundwater Screening Levels were detected in March 2020.
AIS is continuing to conduct investigations and remedial activities in accordance with the requirements of the NJDEP to address the potential contaminate of concerns associated with former uses. AIS, under the direction of a NJDEP Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP), is evaluating the environmental conditions at the site to ensure that any residual impacts from the contamination that may still be present are promptly mitigated to the current NJDEP remediation standards.
