Tribute to Bruce Carey

PERTH AMBOY – I want to remember my classmate who recently passed away who was a friend to all who met him. In his obituary, there was one line that was very true: if you couldn’t get along with Bruce Carey, then there was something wrong with you. His daughter, Genina spoke highly of her father, even going so far as saying she wishes she was older so she could have had more time with him.
Bruce suffered a fall about six years ago that paralyzed him and he was confined to a wheelchair. His daughter said that did not deter him from enjoying life. Whenever there would be a new healthcare worker who came to the house, those workers would find him very easy to talk. They would gladly tell Bruce their whole life story, and almost their whole family history.
That was the way Bruce was. He loved entertaining and had a picnic at his house every year. Dancing and music was an integral part of his life and that’s just the way his life was celebrated at the repass. The pictures on this page show that. This is the only way he would want to be celebrated.
