St. Demetrios Church – the Epiphany

PERTH AMBOY – St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church celebrated the Epiphany on Sunday, January 9, 2022 by the annual blessing of water. After the priest blesses the water, he throws a cross into the bay and children from the church run into the bay to retrieve it. Whoever retrieves the cross will be blessed with good fortune for the rest of the year. This year, Kali & Luka Simatos, and Gaby Rubis ran  in to the bay. Luka caught the cross!!
