PERTH AMBOY – On 4/3/22 at 2307 hours, the PAFD was dispatched to 161 First Street for a reported fire. Upon arrival, heavy fire conditions were found from the front of 159 & 161 First Street and a second alarm was transmitted. Crews immediately began searches and fire attack with two hoselines. The fire was quickly contained as all occupants were accounted for. Extensive overhaul was needed to fully extinguish the fire. One resident was treated and transported to the Medical Center with minor burns. In total there were ten residents displaced from the two houses. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the PAFD. City units on scene were E-1, E-2, E-3, T-2, T-3, R-1, C-1, C-2, C-4, C-5 & C-9. Mutual aid on scene was Hopelawn Rescue 8, Keasbey Truck 4-2-4 & Sayreville Engine 3. E-4 covered the City during the incident.
