Mayor Wilda Diaz presents Rosie Weikel with a proclamation

PERTH AMBOY — The Amboy Guardian congratulates Rosie Weikel who not only is recognized by the Salvation Army in the past but also by the Perth Amboy City Council. Perhaps the Salvation Army should create a Rosie Weikel award in her honor. This award would be given annually to an individual that shows the same dedication and perseverance and devotion that Rosie has shown to her beloved community.

“The Salvation Army has always been there as soon as disasters are happening to feed the EMT, Fire and Police Department and the victims of any disasters or fires. They do not show up three days later when the hard work is done for photo ops.” A private citizen who has witnessed this first hand.
