Angelina Grimke Weld

PERTH AMBOY – Angelina Grimke Weld was a Perth Amboy School Teacher from 1854 to 1861 at the Eagleswood School. As a member of the Underground Railroad, Angelina assisted an untold number of slaves to freedom. And as a leader within the anti-slavery movement, Angelina inspired others to join the cause. Angelina is also featured in the PBS documentary series “The Abolitionists,” which is currently airing on TV.
