Well, look at this! The United States wants to use limited military force on Syria. I wonder why? And what about those chemical weapons being used and who really shot them. Was it the Syrian Military or the Rebels? Your guess.

On August 29th, at the Perth Amboy Board of Education meeting, President Mark Carvajal announced that the Board would be initiating a search process for Superintendent of Schools. He also stated that this process would not exclude me, indicating I could potentially apply for my own position. There has been much rumor and speculation about […]

I am a student attending the AUL Charter High School in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. As an AULCHS student, I found the reasons for Leslie Dominguez-Rodriguez’s refusal to vote to be more of a politically motivated slight against my school than a safety problem as she claimed. Dominguez-Rodriguez claimed that our use of the rectory […]

On the eve of hurricane Sandy, Perth Amboy residents were told prepare for the worst, one of the preparations included residents putting tape on their windows to prevent shattering glass. As the anniversary of super storm Sandy approaches, every Sunday on my day off, I would wake up, get my favorite cup of coffee and […]

The two terms go hand-in-hand but apparently that does not apply in the case of my friend and colleague, David Spevack, when his superiors apparently made the decision to relieve him of his duties as prosecutor in the Municipal Court. David is a great guy, pleasant, respectful and considerate to the public in general. Recently, […]

I would like to dedicate a song to a friend of mine who died this past June. He was a long time crossing guard in Metuchen. The name of the song is “When you are smiling, When you are smiling. The whole world smiles with you.” The name of my friend was Bobby Moten. I […]

The Mayor and her friends were ground breaking for new low income housing. 70 units for the Delaney Project. Bragging about this is as an entrance to Perth Amboy. Are they insane? What City puts low income housing as their entrance??? Perth Amboy needs to attract high income, not low. Jose Rodriguez-Marte Editor’s Note […]

This is an explanation of some recent proposals. The purpose of firearm registration is not just to allow a future confiscation, but to allow a regressive tax on owners or firearms. The idea of banning the so-called “gun show loophole” is to reduce the value of firearms. If they can’t be sold their value drops […]

Your recent story regarding the Muniz case is biased and disappointing. You simply recounted a lawsuit with its allegations, along with the phrase “court documents say.” It is important for readers to know that anyone can file a civil suit for anything. No verification of facts will take place until the suit goes through a […]

From time to time paid lobbyists ask for “gun control” as if this phrase could somehow cure the ills of society. Yet they never provide any facts or honest statistics for their claims. The reason is the facts refute their claims. In 1968, the movie “Targets” created a mass shooting then asked for passage of […]

The Ferry ran to Staten Island. You could go to the pavilion or take rat trap to St. George to go to Staten Island. You could go swimming at the beach at Sadowski Parkway with a lifeguard on duty. The Boardwalk was wood, then concrete, then pavers. Boardwalk Joe’s was the place to go in […]

The photo that appeared in the Guardian of Chief Ruiz, in full uniform, at Mayor Diaz’ election night headquarters, counting votes with Greg Diaz and Kenneth Gonzalez was very telling. Taxpayers now know what people such as South Jersey political boss George Norcross [who gave $24,000 to Mayor Diaz] and even closer to home, what […]
