PERTH AMBOY — In recognition of Alcohol Awareness Month, NCADD is joining communities throughout the nation who are conducting town hall meetings to discuss what can be done to prevent and reduce underage drinking.
Locally, NCADD is partnering with the Youth Community Leadership Academy (YCLA), an after-school program for Perth Amboy High School students, to hold its annual Town Hall Meeting on Underage Drinking.
The event will be held at the Raritan Bay Area YMCA located at 357 New Brunswick Avenue in Perth Amboy. The event will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Town hall meetings work at the grassroots level to raise awareness of the public health dangers of underage drinking and to provide families and communities with practical steps for keeping their youth safe and healthy. A panel discussion will include presentations by local youth, City of Perth Amboy officials, educators, and more. Refreshments will be served and door prizes awarded.
