Summer Winners at Dowdell Library

SOUTH AMBOY – The Dowdell Library of South Amboy is pleased to announce the Summer Contests’ winners! The Back to School “Packed Back Pack” winners are Maria Nightingale and Dillon Kelleman. The child reading the most books for the Summer Reading Club “Dig into Reading” was Anasia Echavarria, who read a total of 82 books! Anasia wins a selected set of books, great job Anasia.

The adult Summer Reading Club, “Dig through the Decades,” challenged library patrons with through the decade’s pop culture quizzes. Weekly winners were: Kelly Wolff, Gail Buchbinder, Lillian Naused, Natalie Keremes, Allison Stickle, Sarah Buchbinder, Grace Perez, Abbey Prato and Muriel Sullivan. The GRAND PRIZE WINNER was Gail Buchbinder, who received a $25 gift card to Barnes & Noble. Congratulations to all summer 2013 winners.

Save the date! On Tuesday, September 10th at 6:30 pm, the library will introduce local award winning author Alan E. Jankowski with a poetry reading of his “We Shall Never Forget” – a 9/11 Tribute and other works from his book. Join us as we pay tribute to 9/11 and also learn some interesting tips for people interested in writing. Attendees will also have the opportunity to win a door prize.

Also, don’t miss the Dowdell Library’s new Book Buddy – Thor! Thor is a Great Pyrenees Mountain Dog who is a South Amboy resident pet that loves people and will visit the library on Tuesday, September 24, at 7 pm!
