Faith Leaders Host Forum on Financial Wellness, July 28

Free Financial Wellness Forum Addresses Financial Needs Of  Congregations and Communities. Presented by Dr. Deforest B. Soaries, Jr.

News Release –
PERTH AMBOY – “Faith, Finance and Freedom” is the topic of discussion at the Forum on Financial Wellness on Monday, July 28, 2014, 6:30pm until 8:30pm at the Donald Hilliard, Jr. Community Affairs Complex, 205 Smith Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861. New Jersey Clergy Leadership is hosting this meeting that will address and offer solutions to poor financial health practices that affect the lives of individuals, upsets families, and impacts the church’s ability to meet the needs of its members and communities.

Leading this discussion will be Dr. Deforest B. Soaries, Jr., Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens and Creator of the dfree® Financial Freedom Movement.  Attendees can expect a solutions-based interactive discussion about one of the leading and most damaging problems facing our families, congregations, and communities.

“We want clergy leaders to attend who are devoted to achieving better fiscal management, unlocking the chains of consumer debt and ultimately changing lives for the better,” said Dr. DeForest B. Soaries, Jr. “dfree® has a proven record of empowering pastors to assist their flock in becoming debt free. Once the chains of debt are broken, they will then have the ability to give back. That is truly where a wealth mindset begins.”

Bishop Donald Hilliard, Jr., Lead Pastor at Cathedral International, Perth Amboy, NJ and one of the forum hosts, encourages clergy to attend, “Debt stifles families from creating wealth and from having the ability to pass something profitable on to future generations. Too many families can’t afford to finance their children’s education because of debt.”

Leaders attending will learn about the dfree® Financial Freedom Movement and how it is being used to improve the financial wellness of families, churches, and communities around the country.  The dfree® curriculum, free training and web-based tools will be offered to help leaders implement the dfree® program.

There is no charge to attend the Forum on Financial Wellness but registration is required.  To register, please email Rev. Catherine Griggs atEpiscopaloffice@thecathedral.org or call (732)585-4032.
