PERTH AMBOY – Mayor Wilda Diaz and the Perth Amboy Gallery: Center for the Arts announce the Hispanic Heritage Celebration featuring the Hilos de Ayer opening reception on Thursday, October 30th.
This traveling exhibit showcases the rich history and traditions which began with the stitches and stories of Latina seamstresses. The exhibit will feature historical documents and traditional garments, along with a presentation about their cultural significance. A discussion will be held on Hispanic contributions to fashion and musical performance and refreshments will be served.
This event is made in partnership with curator Beatrice Caraballo, Camden County Historical Society, and La Casa de Educacion y Cultura Latina, Inc., as part of the City of Perth Amboy’s as part of the city-wide Hispanic Heritage Celebration events.
