PERTH AMBOY, NJ— The Office of Emergency Management has announced a “Code Blue” in the City of Perth Amboy. A shelter and heating centers have been designated for the public in three Perth Amboy facilities due to low temperatures:
- OVERNIGHT: Alexander F. Jankowski Community Center located on 1 Olive Street; open overnight tonight, Wednesday, 2/8/17 from 9 p.m.-5 a.m.
- Raritan Bay Area YMCA located on 357 New Brunswick Avenue; open Weekdays 5:30 am-9:45 pm
- Perth Amboy Public Library located on 196 Jefferson Street; open Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
If anyone sees a person who needs help, they are urged to call the Perth Amboy Police Department at 732-442-4400. If needed, transportation will be provided by local emergency responders.
IMPORTANT: The shelter at Olive Street is open to CITY residents. This is NOT a County shelter.
