Andes Festival

PERTH AMBOY-– Today, the City of Perth Amboy and the Perth Amboy Business Improvement District (PA-BID) expressed their excitement to host the Tenth Annual Perth Amboy Andes Festival, “Festival de los Andes”, on June 27, 2015. The City of Perth Amboy and PA BID will continue to support and celebrate the rich and diverse Andean Culture which is comprised of the following countries: Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina, Venezuela and Chile. Now in its tenth year, the Andes Festival has been embraced as one of Perth Amboy Downtown’s most anticipated traditions as each year residents, shoppers, and businesses come together to explore and enjoy the Andean Culture within the City. Furthermore, the Perth Amboy Andes Festival is the only Andean festival celebrated in Middlesex County.

On Saturday, June 27th from 12pm to 5pm, the greater Perth Amboy area is encouraged to take part the Andes Festival which will located at the Perth Amboy Train Station.  This free event is open to the public and will feature live music, cultural dance performances, educational workshops, refreshments, vendors, face painting, arts and crafts, and more. This festival is being sponsored by a grant from the New Jersey Council for the Arts awarded through the Middlesex County and Heritage Commission and the Board of Freeholders. In addition, it will be sponsored by the Perth Amboy Business Improvement District and co-sponsored by the City of Perth Amboy, Office of Recreation. In the event of inclement weather, the Andes Festival will take place on Sunday, June 28th.
