Student Plays Violin at Carnegie Hall

PERTH AMBOY – Kamaria Goodwin-Omari is a 7-year-old first grade Dual Language student at Edward J. Patten School.  Kamaria was invited to play violin at Carnegie Hall where she performed Andantino by Suzuki at The Golden Key Music Festival this past Sunday, June 11, after earning Gold in The Golden Key competition in Princeton in March.

Kamaria has been playing violin since she was five.  But, she also has many other interests including reading, swimming, and playing with her guinea pig, Leo. Kamaria is also a Daisy member of Perth Amboy’s Girl Scout Troop 80814 and looks forward to becoming a Brownie in the fall. This summer, Kamaria wants to devote time to working on ideas that she has for a series of children’s books.
