Perth Amboy – It started with a vision: to provide an athletic program for young adults that would offer tangible benefits and rewards such as life skills, networking, and strengthening of the mind and body.
“As a child, I’ve always played in sports and found that the freedom to play was the greatest gift to have. Coming on board as a program coordinator with the Jewish Renaissance Foundation’s Civic Justice Corps (CJC), allowed me to implement the plan of the Young Adults Basketball program,” stated Edison Jaquez.
The Civic Justice Corps (CJC) is a youth serving program model that assists disconnected, court-involved or formerly incarcerated youth between the ages of 16-24 to reconnect with their communities. It is the first-ever national service program to affirmatively recruit people with criminal records.
