PERTH AMBOY - The HyTaverngang presented a check on 2/27/15 to Ms. Donna Pryga, a Perth Amboy cancer survivor, to help with the purchase of a much needed chairlift. The group held a Cigar Night last week to raise the money. The HyTaverngang was formed by Perth Amboy police officer Harry Scheman who got together a group of friends and fellow officers who wanted to help out our community. In the past few years we have held various fund raisers including Pig Roast, yard sales and cigar nights. We have contributed to JRC for cancer screenings, the Eddie Febles Scholarship Fund, Project Lifesaver and National Night Out among others. Our next event is a fundraiser for Project Lifesaver, to buy 2 new bracelets for the safety of Alzheimer’s and dementia patients. It will be on St. Patrick’s Day at the Hy Tavern. We will be serving up Mom’s famous corned beef and cabbage for a five dollar donation.
