PERTH AMBOY – Resident William Ortiz was concerned about the intersection of Brace Avenue and Lee Street where several accidents have occurred. “Motorists stop to let kids cross at the intersection, but other cars behind that stopped vehicle will swing around that car.”

He said this as a warning for people just to be aware of this. He also mentioned the difficulty he had getting a car service started in the City.

“Because, when I got the form from the City I listed my physical address and I was denied a license. I had to go to New York to register my business.”

Ortiz said, “People will not be coming to my residence. I will be going to where they want me to pick them up.”

Councilman Bill Petrick suggested that Ortiz go to the Board of Adjustments for help.

City Attorney Mark Blunda said, “I thought we amended the ordinance to say that as long as you are not running the business out of your house, there shouldn’t be a problem.” Blunda indicated that he would look into this further.
