Censorship Has Come to America

LetterFacebook and YouTube will censor anyone if they post anything said or a video negative about Hillary Clinton, but it is not the case if you put something negative about Trump. If you do, it will be posted on Facebook or YouTube. What a way to go in America! NOW, we know who controls the internet – those insiders with the big bucks! We all know what’s really going on with the Clintons, Inc. and their money making foundation. What was going on at the State Department when Hillary was in charge and her e-mails that leak out? How many newspapers were pro-Hillary and they know they were covering up for her? Yes, I know Mr. Trump is no angel, but let’s be fair on both sides. Censorship has come to America. The 1st Amendment is destroyed for us on what we read and see from the news media. Sometimes I look at the American flag and what it stands for – FREEDOM from CENSORSHIP by those that control the system. I could imagine how this election will be at the voting polls and what group will control it or Obama somehow suspend it for a good reason.

On Campaign Contributions

There was an article that discussed the laws regarding campaign contributions. Just as a citizen is only allowed to vote once, so too, a restriction on campaign contributions seems like a reasonable law. But the US Supreme Court ruled that campaign contributions are a form of free speech and can’t be regulated. Any local law can’t overrule the First Amendment or the Bill or Rights. Yet, some try to do so.

More attention should be given to NJ Senate bill S-3132 which attacks the people’s right to elect the members of local Boards of Election. Do we have too much democracy in NJ that we need to restrict it?

It is the “Arts” that Save Us

ladys hand pen bwWhile watching the Summer Olympics, whenever Ipanema Beach was mentioned. I could not help but hum “The Girl from Ipanema,” the song that touched off the Bossa Nova Craze of the 1960’s.

This song, along with another Bossa Nova Classic, “Desafinado,” were not only popular with listeners on the radio, but also with dancers at Clubs and Wedding Receptions.

The late Antonio Carlos Jobim, the creator of these songs and dozens of others is considered the most important Brazilian Composer.

Sometimes they play his music on FM Jazz 88 WBGO. Despite the Zika scare, poor water quality, street crime and whatever else is going on in Rio, it is the “Arts” that save us.

Very Truly Yours,

Annette Book
