Perth Amboy Presents 2nd Annual Business Expo

For Micro to Midsize and Major Firms

Registration Now Open for the September 28 Event

PERTH AMBOY – Historic Perth Amboy, Mayor Wilda Diaz and the City’s Business Improvement District (BID) will host the Second Annual Business Expo on Wednesday, September 28, beginning at 5:30 PM.

At the Business Expo, companies can exhibit their products and services, attend presentations by experts and network with owners of local companies. While registration is required to exhibit at and attend the event, the Second Annual Business Expo is free and will be held at ZPA Banquet Hall, 281 Grace Street, in Perth Amboy.

Mayor Diaz said, “We’re inviting all of our local companies to join us at Business Expo. Each firm can bring their products, demonstrate services, meet new customers and hear about new ways to market, manage and grow their businesses.”

Companies that want to participate in the Business Expo need to register by Friday, Sept. 23. Simply visit the Event Bright site (http://www.eventbrite.com/e/perth-amboy-business-expo-tickets-18077030886) to register for free. The 2nd Annual Business Expo is presented by the Jewish Renaissance Foundation, the Perth Amboy Redevelopment Team for Neighborhood Enterprise and Revitalization (P.A.R.T.N.E.R.), Perth Amboy and the City’s Business Improvement District.

The Business Expo is featuring a keynote address by Luis de la Hoz, V.P. of Lending with the Intersect Fund. Mr. de la Hoz is discussing the many business financing and funding sources available to minority-owned companies. He will explain how small and micro businesses can access capital from the Intersect Fund and many different lenders. The capital can be used to expand a business, pay operating expenses, hire employees and purchase equipment or inventory.

In discussing the upcoming Business Expo, Mr. de la Hoz said, “Perth Amboy is the friendliest minority, small business City in New Jersey. Everyone can see the real commitment from Mayor Diaz, the BID and many entities in town.”

Also, Mr. de la Hoz, who is also a Vice President of the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey, is going to discuss many programs the Chamber runs for small businesses, start-up firms and future entrepreneurs.

The Business Expo includes the following presentations:

• Mayor Wilda Diaz – reviews the City’s pro-business programs and resources

• Winston C. Trumpet, CEO of Strategic Business Associates − shares practical skills that help to organize and manage a nonprofit organization or business to achieve goals, raise customer service levels and overall manage more efficiently

• Kellie LeDet, Regional Administrator of U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA),will discuss the many programs and services provided to local companies by SBA’s staff

• Randy Convery, BID Field Representative and Social Media Advisor − provides an overview of digital marketing and the value of social media networks in generating sales for small firms.

The Second Annual Business Expo is supported by many sponsoring organizations and businesses including Perth Amboy and the City’s BID, the Amboy Guardian, Familiar/Americano Newspaper, Reporte Hispano Newspaper, Perth Amboy Alliance for Community, WCTC-AM “Talk Radio,” and the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
