Perth Amboy Student Attends Presidential Inauguration Leadership Summit

PERTH AMBOY/WASHINGTON D.C. – Perth Amboy Catholic School-Upper School Seventh Grade Student Madison Lopez attended the Presidential Inauguration Leadership Summit from January 18-22, 2017.

Madison was chosen by her 4th grade teacher Mrs. Poandl to attend the Envision Leadership Program at Rider University over the summer before entering the 5th grade. She is currently now in the 7th grade. Madison studied CSI, Medicine and Engineering when she attended the summer program. She became an Alumni of this Envision Leadership Program, and was invited to The 2017 Presidential Inauguration Leadership Summit

At the Summit she collaborated with other motivated students to discuss and discover inspired local, national, and global solutions to the challenges her generation and our next President will face.

The honored guest speakers were Malala Yousafzal, Nobel Laureate, Malala Fund Co-founder, and student, and her father, education advocate, Malala Fund co-founder, and teacher Ziauddin. In addition, there were other guest speakers such as Colin Powell, and filmmaker Spike Lee. On Inauguration Day she witnessed history at the National Mall as the President and Vice President of the United States took their public oath and were sworn into office.
