Water Company Announces Project in Sayreville

ISELIN – Middlesex Water Company (NASDAQ: MSEX) today announced crews will begin mobilizing to replace sections of a large diameter 95-year old water transmission main in the Borough of Sayreville, New Jersey beginning on April 3, 2017.  The $1.8 million project is necessary to replace aging water infrastructure in the area and ensure continued reliability and service quality to customers in eastern and southern Middlesex County and a portion of Monmouth County. Approximately1,500 feet of water main is being replaced in the project, expected to be completed by mid-May.  The project will also include the replacement of air valves and upgrades to emergency interconnections. Complete restoration of areas disturbed by construction is expected by the fall.

The Company’s contractor, Northeast Remsco, will be working in the area of Washington Road (from Sherwood Road to Latham Circle.)  The project will involve sizable excavations on Sherwood Road, Burlington Road and Washington Road where some water mains are being relocated.  Periodic road closures are also expected along Sherwood Road, Surrey Lane, Cambridge Drive, Camden Street, Burlington Road, Latham Circle, Warwick Road as well as Washington Road.  Middlesex Water is working with Sayreville Borough officials to minimize inconvenience to customers during this project. Residents that will be significantly affected by this project are receiving individual notification with project details.
