PERTH AMBOY – Katarina Koziotova, a 6th grade student at Perth Amboy Catholic School, won 2nd place in the 6th Grade Category for her poster in the ‘Be Smart About Medicine” Creative Expression Art and Essay contest sponsored by the Wellspring Center for Prevention of Middlesex County. The Center is celebrating 35 years of providing substance abuse prevention, education and support for personal recovery.
The 7th Annual Awards Dinner was held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Clinical Academic Building in New Brunswick, N.J.
Katarina was awarded a certificate and a $50.00 gift card for her artwork. She attended the event with her family and her art teacher, Rose Lavin Pennyfeather, and the principal of Perth Amboy Catholic School, Sr. Rebecca Piatek. Also attending was the school librarian, Sr. Dorothy Sajczuk.
The event was co-ordinated by Ms. Linda Surks, and the judges were: Mr. Paul Grzella, Editor of the Home News Tribune, Ms. Rachelle Burk, Children’s Author and Entertainer and Mr. Ezra Helfand, Executive Director & CEO, Wellspring Center for Prevention.
