THE COMMUNITY VOICE: Letters to the Editor

Undocumented Children

Is the “Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” bill really a threat to America? Those who were brought to America as infants or children have been educated here. The cost is around $12,000 a year, so each represents around $150,000 in taxes. Should this money be wasted by deporting them to a foreign land? Given the continuing need for immigration these should have priority over others, unless you want to waste tax dollars.

And Then There Was One . . .

. . . And then there is one who received about $60,000 plus benefits per year without ever working! It must be nice to know that taxpayers will be supporting him for the rest of his life!

Sincerely,

A Weed

Smoking Town

The new Governor wants to legalize marijuana. How nice! I could see it now! The weed smoking state! Smoke while you drive. How many mayors supported this Governor when he was running for office? I can name one and guess who? Don’t these mayors know that weed is bad for you? As bad as it is, I live in a town that has a drug problem. We all know it, and some of those dead brain politicians want to legalize it. And here’s another thing this sanctuary city that those politicians support to get voters the easy way. I guess this political party must be desperate for voters, just like California. Look what’s going on over there. But some of those politicians don’t want this in their town. NO WAY! – even down the Jersey Shore. So, for now, let’s wait and see the outcome. Oh, by the way, can Perth Amboy become a weed smoking town? I’d like to see this at a City Council Meeting.
