Breakfast Fundraiser
HOPELAWN – There will be a breakfast fundraiser sponsored by Los Criollos at the Good Shepherd Parish in Msgr. Gambino Hall, 625 Florida Grove Rd., Hopelawn on Sunday, March 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost: $8 pp. Please contact Susan Nieves for tickets. Walk-Ins welcome. Menu includes: eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, bread, orange juice or coffee. All proceeds to benefit medical expenses for Jennifer Lopez-Soltren.
Jenn is Good Shepherd Parishioner who is a 35-year-old single mother of a 10-year-old daughter. Two and a half years ago, she began having seizures and was diagnosed with brain cancer. Recently, her condition has deteriorated, her speech has been affected, and is limited to two to three words and is often unintelligible. Jennifer’s doctor reported that they have exhausted all treatments to try to eradicate this disease. We are being told it’s time to make end of life preparations. Giving up is not an option! Cancer had done its damage, no doubt, but with strong faith and love, we believe all things are possible. We need your help to get there. The financial burden is real and it’s a MAJOR obstacle Jennifer faces. Out-of-pocket expenses, co-pays, deductibles, and prescription costs all add up, and financial resources are limited. Jennifer and her family need your help.
Please support this event or donate what you can and share this story with all your friends and family. Your encouragement and prayers make all the difference. The support of generous souls and the power of LOVE . . . from the bottom of our hearts we say THANK YOU!

Wild, Ancient, Hidden, Gorgeous IRELAND: A Photographic Journey with Joel Simpson
WOODBRIDGE TOWNSHIP – On Monday, March 12 at 6:30 PM join professional photographer Joel Simpson of Joel Simpson Photography for a virtual tour of Ireland, both the Republic and Northern Ireland at the Woodbridge Main Library.
Ireland, exudes authenticity: its landscape, alternately lush and stark; its prehistoric, ancient and Medieval sites; its small towns and villages; the rich geology of its breathtaking, rugged coastlines and interior wonders; its “haunted” ruins; its spectacular flora—and its reassuring lack of commercialism.
Simpson drove around the whole island in two different rental cars, seeing both well-known sites and little-known ones, and making discoveries on his own that were not in the guidebooks.
In his 90-minute slide show, Simpson will also talk about important practicalities, itineraries, and things to watch out for, including how to do it on your own and how to do it on a budget. In addition he’ll give some photographic advice.
The program is free and open to all. The Woodbridge Main Library is located at 1 George Frederick Plaza, Woodbridge, NJ. For more information please see woodbridgelibrary.org or call the Main Library at 732-634-4450.

We will provide one complimentary short paragraph or “short” per event. After your event “short” is published for one week, there will be a $5.00 fee per week charge for each additional “short” published pertaining  to that particular event. For those who pay for a display ad, there will be no fee for additional shorts pertaining to the event in the paid display ad. To our regular loyal advertisers who hold community events, your “short” announcements will remain complimentary. Effective 1/1/16. Thank you.
