PERTH AMBOY – In the4/21/21 issue of the Amboy Guardian Councilman BJ Torres was quoted incorrectly. It was stated in the Amboy Guardian that Councilman Torres stated: “Holland legalized cannabis and the usage stopped.” This is not what Councilman Torres said. Councilman BJ Torres actually stated, “I’m aware that countries such as Holland, that decriminalized cannabis decades ago, that youth usage has dropped significantly. (asking Ed DeVoux) Is there any data in the United States, in states like Colorado that legalized usage, has the youth usage dropped?” The Guardian stated: “Torres then asked if a person grows marijuana in their field would they be classified as an agricultural worker.” Councilman BJ Torres actually asked: “With the cultivation, does that fall under agriculture and will these workers still receive the same protections as other workers, because I know agricultural workers don’t receive the same protections some times.” The Amboy Guardian regrets these errors.
