NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS FOR THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) AND HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP (HOME) PROGRAMS FUNDING APPLICATIONS FOR FY 2022
The City of Perth Amboy is initiating planning for Fiscal Year 2022 Annual Action Plan as part of its application for funding to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The City expects to receive approximately $660,000 from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and $407,000 in HOME funding. Funds may be used to assist persons with low to moderate-incomes, remove slums and blight, or address urgent needs.
Starting Thursday, December 16, 2021, applications and guidelines for FY 2022 CDBG and HOME funds will be available on the City’s website www.perthamboy.nj.org through the Office of Economic and Community Development webpage. Be advised, all proposals will be due via email (mcrodriguez@perthamboynj.org) on Tuesday – January 18, 2022 by 5:00 P.M.
A public hearing is set to be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. via a phone and ZOOM meeting due to the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic and following the social distancing guidelines.

The draft FY 2022 Annual Action Plan will be prepared following the close of the application period and committee review. This document will be available for public review in the City’s website www.perthamboy.nj.org through the Office of Economic and Community Development webpage for 30 days starting Monday, March 28, 2022 to Thursday, April 28 2022 in order to receive comments on the proposed plan prior to finalizing the document and to meet the timing submission requirements established by HUD.
