Movie Review: Spider-Man: No Way Home

By: Anton Massopust III

“I always wanted Brothers.” Andrew Garfield’s Spider- Man.

Remember when we went to the movies and all had fun and we would bring everybody with us, our friends and family. It would unite us and make us all happy. Spider-Man No Way Home is that kind of movie. It’s a fun Adventure and all three Spider-Man’s (played by Tobey McGuire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland) unite against a common foe as they work together to save not just New York, the multiverse before it collapses into itself. At the end of Spider-Man – Far From Home, Mysterio reveals Spider-Man’s secret identity to the world. Spider-Man’s world collapses and everyone he knows it’s in trouble.

Everyone he cares about, even Daredevil comes to aid him. He makes a cameo a Spider-Man’s lawyer, Matt Murdock. Spider-Man seeks the help of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) after they help save the universe together again Thanos. He asked Doctor Strange to erase everyone’s memory so that no one knows he’s Spider-Man. Doctor Strange does so, but miscasts the spell because Peter interrupts it and Doctor Strange contains. Unfortunately, before Doctor Strange can contain it a group of super-villains who all died fighting Spider-Man are seeking revenge on Spider-Man. This includes The Lizard (Rhys Lfans), Electro (Jamie Foxx) Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina) Sandman (Thomas Hayden Church) and the Green Goblin (William Defoe). Doctor Strange wants to return them to their own universe, even though they will die but Spider-Man. Spider-Man and Doctor Strange have a fight because Peter wants to cure them and turn them back to normal. Eventually the Green Goblin shows his true colors and unites the villains to attack Spider-Man. Peter’s friend, Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon) uses Doctor Strange’s ring to find Peter Parker and brings two other Spider-Mans into the dimension that the present Peter Parker is in. All the Spider-Man’s unite against the super-villains in order to “cure” them and send them home. Spider-Man has to make the ultimate sacrifice by having everyone not know that he and Peter Parker are the same with Doctor Strange’s help.

Is this the best Spider-Man movie ever? Pretty close! It is just as good as Enter the Spider-Verse and just as good as Spider-Man 2. I think that bringing back all the original actors who played Spider-Man and the villains years ago is terrific idea. This is too big for your TV to contain. It has everything! It’s a fun seasonal uplifting adventure that we need right now. Spider-Man No Way Home has plenty of Spider-Man references which are any Spider-Man fan would probably know.I can’t give it a bigger recommendation because it’s so much fun for everyone and the cast is wonderful. Go to see it and we’ll be part of your Christmas celebrations, just like we used to do before all this pandemic.
