Several times we will get e-mails from the mayor’s office with a calendar of upcoming events. Sometimes the message will say “Click here for more details.” The last one I clicked onto went to a YouTube video featuring several city employees with Thanksgiving messages. Be thankful for family and friends which if you are blessed can be one of your greatest gifts.

There was one employee at the end of the greeting was thankful for the New York Met’s. (Hopefully they will give us the big gift next season!)

This past Thanksgiving, I took photos as I have done in the past of the meals that were served to the community and all were welcome. Kudos to the Lion’s Club who were there to distribute blankets, Renovation House who supplied and cooked the food, and the Watts Family Service who supplied over 300 turkeys.

A total of 2000 meals were served which included 500 that were delivered. They also delivered meals to the police department.

So, I think from now on, whenever I get one of those e-mails from the city and it says: “Click here for more information,” I will simply do so. C.M.
