Local South Amboy Businesses Support Parade Efforts with ‘Hoist-A-Pint’ Events

SOUTH AMBOY – Once again, the South Amboy Parade Committee is hard at work planning for the city’s 46th annual Saint Patrick’s Day parade to be held on Sunday, March 19, 2023.

The committee has announced its fundraising efforts will include “Hoist-A-Pint” events at local establishments throughout South Amboy. The first will take place on Thursday, January 19 at Raise the Bar Lounge (RTB) 117 North Broadway from 7 – 9 pm followed by a second event on Thursday, February 16 at Teddy’s Bar, 379 South Pine Ave. from 7-9 pm. Our third and final Hoist-A-Pint will take place on Thursday, March 9 at Monaghan House, 400 South Pine Ave. from 7-9 pm.

Each event will charge a $20 pp entrance fee, collected at the door, entitling the participant to beer, wine, food sampling and a performance by the D.B. Kelly Pipe and Drums.

The parade committee will also host a Grand Marshals Night on Friday, January 27, 2023, from 7-10 pm at the Ancient Order of Hibernians Hall (AOH), 271 2nd St, where the 2023 Grand Marshal and Deputy Grand Marshal will be formally announced and recognized for their contributions to our community and the City of South Amboy.

Tickets, available for purchase at the AOH Hall, for the Grand Marshal’s Annual Dinner are $60 per person (includes dinner, beer, wine, and soda as well as a performance by the D. B, Kelly Pipes and Drums. Congratulations to all of the 2023 honorees: Grand Marshal -Mary Porcello, and Deputy Grand Marshal, Monsignor John Gordon.

Proceeds from these events will support the efforts of the South Amboy Saint Patrick’s Day Parade Committee.
