PERTH AMBOY – The following streets will be closed due to storm sewer system repairs starting Monday, March 13, 2023 for approximately five (5) days, weather permitting.

The streets affected are:

• Closing of the westbound lane of Smith Street from Elm Street slightly past Oak Street
• Oak Street from Fayette Street to Smith Street
• Oak Street from Market Street to Smith Street

Please review the notice below, sent to residents and businesses impacted by the road closure due to the scheduled repairs.

DEAR RESIDENTS & BUSINESSES,

Please be advised that beginning on or about Monday, March 13th, weather permitting, we will be closing the west-bound lane of Smith Street from Elm Street to slightly past Oak Street, Oak Street from Fayette Street to Smith Street and Oak Street from Market Street to Smith Street for a period of approximately 5 working days so that repairs can be made to the storm sewer system for the City of Perth Amboy.

The west bound lane of Smith Street from Elm Street to just past Oak Street will be closed for 24 hours a day.

Oak Street from Smith Street to Fayette Street will be closed 24 hours a day.

Oak Street from Smith Street to Market Street will be closed during working hours only, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. During non-working hours Oak Street from Smith Street to Market Street will be open to through traffic.

During this time, we ask that all residents and businesses located on Oak Street between Fayette Street & Smith Street enter and exit Oak Street at Fayette Street.

All residents and businesses on Oak Street from Smith Street to Market Street enter and exit Oak Street at Market Street from 7: 00 AM to 4 :00 PM.

During construction, signs will be posted on the barricades stating that “All Businesses Open During Construction.”
