Brenda Lena Maxwell

Brenda Lena Maxwell, 73, of Willingboro, NJ, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2024, at home surrounded by her family.  Brenda was born in Perth Amboy on December 11, 1950, to Rockwell and Essie Lee Maxwell.

Brenda was a graduate of Perth Amboy High School, Class of 1968, then she went on to receive her BA at Glassboro State University and then received her MA from Trenton State University.  Brenda was a Teacher and Guidance Counselor for the Edison School System and then worked for Pathmark in Avenel, retiring in 2010.

Brenda is predeceased by her parents, Rockwell and Essie Lee Maxwell; her sisters, Bennie Goodman and Jeannette Murray; her brothers, Franklin D. Nelson, David Tyrone Nelson and Rockwell Maxwell, Jr.

Brenda is survived by her sisters, Joan Maxwell, Carolyn Maxwell, Velma Renna Richardson and brother-in-law Ralph, and Audrey R. Maxwell; her special nephews, Eric Maxwell (her Guardian Angel), Brendan Maxwell (her namesake) and Maurice Maxwell (her chauffeur); and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 26,2024 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Avenue, Perth Amboy, and on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 178 Rector Street, Perth Amboy from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.  Cremation will be held privately.
