Chuckie’s Angels Providing Fun Day for Children Suffering with Cancer and Paralysis, June 12

News Release –PERTH AMBOY – Charles Barnes was a resident of Perth Amboy prior to losing his battle with leukemia at a young age but his memory continues to win in the heart of his best friend, Destiny Hilliard-Thomas.  She is Founder and President of Chuckie’s Angels, Inc., a nonprofit organization named in honor of Charles Barnes.  Chuckie’s Angel’s mission is to  uplift youth by providing them with essential resources including housing to not only survive, but to become successful and productive individuals.

Chuckie’s Angels will host its first fundraising event : “We [R] S.T.A.R.S. (Seeking to Acknowledge Real Strength).”  The fundraising event will be held Saturday, July 12, at the New Jersey Expo Center in Edison, New Jersey between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

This event will mark ten years that Charles, the late best friend of Destiny Hilliard-Thomas, lost his battle to leukemia. The stars of the day will include children from the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation along with other organizations from the surrounding area. Special guests including NY Giants Player Walter Thurmond, Eric LeGrand, musical artists Leah Joy, JT Cotton, Vincent Walker and the Forgiven Experience along with Tajah will all be in attendance.

Eric LeGrand’s  “Team LeGrand”  is partnering with Chuckie’s Angels for this day of celebrating children living with terminal illnesses including cancer, HIV/AIDs and sickle cell anemia.  We [R] S.T.A.R.S will celebrate children living with cancer with a day full of fun, live entertainment, performances, giveaways, and special guests.  A Beyoncé and J-Z Concert ticket will be given away at this event.

“Our goal is to provide a day filled with fun, happiness, and worry free joy to children who may otherwise not experience this excitement and enthusiasm.  We want to bring awareness to the community about paralysis and childhood cancer,” said Destiny Hilliard-Thomas.
