Advisory: Auto fatality under investigation

PERTH AMBOY – Middlesex County Acting Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Chief Benjamin Ruiz of the Perth Amboy Police Department announced that police are actively investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a Chrysler minivan on Smith Street this morning.

Pedro Reyes-Tejada 34, of Perth Amboy was pronounced dead at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy at 6:58 a.m. after he was hit while crossing Smith Street near the railroad station at 6:08 a.m.

No charges have been filed, but the investigation is active and is continuing.
