PERTH AMBOY – The late Roland Jenkins was posthumously inducted into the Perth Amboy Hall of Fame on Wednesday, May 14. He was a beloved member of the community and Principal of the Wilentz School at the time of his untimely death.
Those attending included long-time friend and colleague Anita Dowd, members of the community, the Wilentz School and other Perth Amboy Schools.
Board Member and former classmate Ken Puccio gave a touching tribute to his late friend. A family member gave a heartfelt musical tribute to Roland.

In July, my cousin informed of Roland’s death which I was unaware of. I went to Perth Amboy High School and was a friend of his. Although, my family moved to Avenel, I graduated from Colonia Sr. High in 1973. Currently, I live in Richmond Hill,Georgia and visited the northeast in July and drove past the old high school on State Street and what reflections I had.
