LONG BRANCH – On 8/27/15 Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) toured Oxford Superconducting Technology in Carteret to highlight and discuss the ‘Make It In America’ agenda.  Congressman Pallone talked about the importance of American jobs and took input on how the ‘Make It In America’ jobs plan can be updated to reflect today’s economic landscape.

“A commitment to American manufacturing is a critical component to improving the economy and creating jobs across the country,” said Congressman Pallone.  “Discussions and tours like today’s at Oxford Superconducting Technology not only help highlight this priority, they give New Jersey-specific insight to our work on the ‘Make It In America’ agenda in Washington.  Reinvigorating our manufacturing sector, along with training and securing a twenty-first century workforce, is the best way to create jobs that sustain and grow our middle-class now and in the long term.”

House Democrats launched the ‘Make It In America’ plan in 2010, centered on the goal of creating the best conditions for American manufacturing, innovation, and job creation.  Five years later, several ‘Make It In America’ bills have been signed into law.  However, the economic landscape has changed and new sectors have arisen in the economy since the plan was first introduced.  More information on ‘Make It In America’ can be found HERE.

In addition to taking input, Pallone discussed ‘Make It In America’ legislative priorities, including reauthorization of the Export-Import Bank.

Oxford Superconducting Technology has been based at its Carteret site for 30 years and has continued their investment in the facility.
